Awesome Group And Fantastic Dancers
Wow, what a 'time' then, even with all the problems in the world...I loved it!
Wow! This took me all the way back to when I was a kid. Used to watch this every week. Haven't thought about this show for a loooooong time. Thanks for the memory
Del Curtis, 23, paying his dues in 1968 at WSTV-TV9 in Steubenville OH. He also worked at stations in Youngstown OH and Pittsburgh PA before he joined the Army. Then he made his mark in 1970 in New York City as Del DeMontreaux. For a time during the 90's the Brooklyn native was the public address announcer at Shea Stadium before being sidelined by a stroke in 1999.
He is the enemy!
TRES Cool
"Ivy Ivy" followed "Pretty Ballerina" in March 1967, bubbled under the Hot 100 at just #119. "And Suddenly" was the b-side. The Cherry People version came along the following year. "Teen Time," first went on the air as "Nine Teen Time" in the early 60's. Stan Scott was the host at the beginning but left in the mid-60's to become an evangelist. Then entered Del Curtis.
They should have teamed up with the shags .
The winner gets a Strawberry Alarm Clock lp How awesome, do you think they still have it?
Does anyone know where this was?
Look how nicely dressed & clean cut these teen-agers are. Enough said. And most of these guys would be drafted into the Vietnam War., and their lived changed forever. Some of the guys might have even died in the war. A Moment in Time
Do you have the clip with the Cherry People band actually on the show? Thanks in advance !
Introductory theme song is "Sock It To 'em J.B," by Rex Garvin & the Mighty Cravers.
Thank you. I only know it from The Specials cover in the 80s.
Girl in the green skirt suit.🥰🥰🥰
They are not dancing...they're doing a routine 😂😅
............. all those girls are so cute !!
Yes they are, but I'm cuter.

Real music
This is so cool. We did a different dance to this song, I can't describe it but it came back to me when I heard the music. We would all go to the rec center after school to dance to latest songs for about an hour and then go home. Good times definitely.
I was 12 or 13😂😂😂😂
As a tv host, this was definetely not Ed Sullivan, Kassey Kassum, nor Dick Clark.

“Bowling For Dollars” used this song for commercial breaks..
I honestly thought it was about bowling. 🎳
Jay Procker RIP.
Love it.
WSTV is now WTOV since 6/1/1979.
Great Friday Night Football Game Song
Watching in 2023 😊 I had this single and now play it on my radio shows
The original version had a vocal track that was erased.😊
Wow that little blonde sure is digging it
Poop
I went to high school in the mid 70s. We had a decent little jazz band and this was their song ! They played it at sporting events, assemblies, etc. I actually thought it was our h.s. Fight song. It makes a damn good one even if it wasn’t official. I still want to get out of my chair when I hear it.
I didn’t realize till this second that there had been a specific dance for this song, but then in 1968 I was attending a boys’ boarding school so there was zero opportunity to be indulging in any go-go dancing like these teens.
I love seeing these low-budget, low production value local teen dance programs, such as the one that is at the center of the movie "Hairspray." In my hometown of Louisville, it was called High Varieties, I think. In the town I currently live in, it was called Sump'n Else.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐🤎🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶 I was 6 years old when that song came out
I was 5 years old when this song came out
2:20 dude is the precursor to Tom Cruise. Is it just me?
Back then none of us could dance.lol
They make today's kids look like bums.Everybodys nicely put together. What happened to pride in appearance?
I’m really impressed that the audience was integrated and that it was broadcast on television.
Nice to see black and white kids simply having a good time on the dance floor. Taped late 1967.
Horse fever?, is that similar to the bird flu? Also would have liked to see them dance to the Marvelettes record!
How cute!
The Hello People were, to some extent, a novelty act with the mime shtick and that probably limited their popularity. But if you listen to their first two albums, they made pretty damn good music for the day.
THIS MY FAVORITE GARAGE RECORD. LOVE IT WISH I COULD GO BACK.
Wow 54 YEARS AGO BETTER HEALTHY LOOKEN KIDS. I REMEMBER MY MON SINGEN THAT SONG ON THE WAY TO MY UNCLES HOUSE 1968
Perfect. I enjoy this band very much. What's the song's title?
Super cool 👍
Big spenders dance winners get two albums one by Jonathan King that came out in 1965
